Wealth management is known to be notoriously dominated by low-diversity white men. As the conversation about discrimination in the workplace becomes louder, many are trying to make changes in their workplaces. For these two business partners, their goal was to shed light on this issue through their collaboration with financial giant Morgan Stanley by becoming the youngest black consultants in the company.
Isaac Richard III and Dominique Jordan have served numerous clients on their team and are trying to change how people think about hiring financial advisors. “We’re a CFO for high net worth families, if you will. In this way, we can help our customers make informed decisions about wealth that will affect their families across generations. “
“Given the lack of representation in wealth management, I almost wonder if the members of each group even know we exist,” Jordan said in an email interview with BLACK COMPANY. “Finally, and most importantly, community education. The inequality of prosperity between black and white households is still too drastic today. Using the platform to educate our community through asset management is therefore of paramount importance. “
Jordan advises those wishing to enter the field not to be discouraged and to work to grow within the sector. “My advice is to know that you are valued beyond measure,” added Jordan.
